For more information about the projects and goals of national USA Dance, please see the <a title="USA Dance Natl. website" href="http://usadance.org/">National USA Dance website</a>.</p> <p>Composed of dancers, for dancers, USA Dance - Seattle strives to make sure dance opportunities are as diverse, high quality and affordable as possible today and tomorrow. By becoming a member, you are supporting an activity that is important to you and bringing yourself into the fold of a fun, friendly and supportive group of fellow dancers.</p> <p><strong>USA Dance - Seattle</strong> members really do get the most out of dancing! <a href="pages/membership.html">How to become a member</a>.</p> <h2 class="headline"><A name="The Olympic Quest"></a>The Olympic Quest</h2> <p>USA Dance was originally formed to seek acceptance of competitive ballroom dancing (known as &quot;dancesport&quot;) as an Olympic sport. We have been working hard to achieve this goal with other world amateur dance organizations and together our efforts have been rewarded with the coveted &quot;Olympic Recognized Sport&quot; status for dancesport by the International Olympic Committee. What this means is that the committee deems dancesport a worthy addition to the games, but it has not yet been scheduled in any specific games.
